I am pleased to publish for the first time a new portfolio of images called Big Sur. The 20 images in this portfolio were culled from many sessions of shooting on the Big Sur over the course of thirty years or more. They are all remastered using the latest techniques and practices of my current workflow. You will note that they are all slightly painterly. That is my "go to" style these days as I transition from traditional photography to photo-artistry.
So what is the Big Sur? Well, it just happens to be one of the most scenic meetings of land and sea in the world. It is an area on California's Central Coast stretching from Monterey County in the north to San Luis Obispo County in the south. In terms of scenery it out shines many national parks; indeed it incorporates several California State Parks. This long coastline can be driven in one long day, or it can be broken up into several days. It is wild and remote, and yet there are several world class inns and restaurants to be found along its length. These images will yield but a hint of the beauty to be found here.
I hope you enjoy them and if so moved I'd love to hear from you. You can leave me a message in my guestbook.
I am a Fine Art Photographer based on the Central Coast of California. Photography has been a lifelong passion. I am especially drawn by the natural beauty and phenomenon of our environment which I seek to bring to life in my photographs with an artistic and slightly painterly style. I have photographed throughout the United States and Canada, and approximately forty other countries.
